Privacy Policy

Budholes ("we," "us") is a golf app for friend groups, operated by Milk&Sugar LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Plain English, no tricks.

What we collect

• Account — when you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, if you share it, your name and email. You can hide your email via Apple's relay.
• Profile — display name and the payment usernames you choose to add (Venmo, Cash App, PayPal). These are stored so your buds can settle up; we never use them to move money.
• Gameplay — groups you join, rounds, hole-by-hole scores, side-game points, shots you mark, and private per-hole notes.
• Location — while a round is open and you use the rangefinder, we use your precise location to measure distance to the green and detect which hole you're on. Shots you mark are saved with their coordinates. We do not track your location in the background or when the app is closed.
• Purchases — subscription status. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your card details.

How we use it

• Run the core app: scoring, side-games, GPS, standings, settle-up.
• Generate post-round recap "roasts" from your round's scores.
• Sync your squad's round in real time across phones.
• Manage your Pro subscription.

Who we share it with (service providers)

• Supabase — our backend host (database, auth, storage). Stores the data above.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchases, and MapKit for the satellite map.
• Anthropic — your round's scores (player names + strokes vs par) are sent to generate the post-round roast. Sent statelessly; not used to train models.
• OpenStreetMap (Overpass) — we query public course-map data near your course's coordinates to find greens and holes.

We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Money

Budholes never holds, transfers, or processes money between users. Side-games are scored in points with no monetary value. The settle-up screen shows point standings and can open a payment app (Venmo/Cash App/PayPal) — what you send is between you and your buds.

Your choices & rights

• Location — you can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings; the rangefinder simply won't show live distances.
• Access or delete — email us to request a copy of your data or delete your account and associated data.
• Payment handles — edit or remove them anytime in your profile.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. On account deletion, we remove your profile, scores, shots, notes, and related records. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being purged.

Children

Budholes isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
